Thirty-Eight Percent (38%) Of RNs Plan To Leave Nursing Within 12 Months

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -October 15, 2009 - (ASRN.ORG) -- In a national online survey conducted by the American Society of Registered Nurses, 38% of the Registered Nurses surveyed said they are "definitely" planning to leave nursing within the next 12 months.

In a national survey of 684 Registered Nurses, conducted on October 15, 2009, 54% said they "are not" planning to leave the profession within the next 12 months, while 8% said they were "unsure" about leaving nursing within the next 12 months.

This internet survey of 684 Registered Nurses was conducted on October 15, 2009 by the American Society of Registered Nurses (ASRN). The margin of sampling error for the survey is + / - 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
