Physician assistants and nurse practitioners represent the top fastest-growing jobs in 13 states, according to a recent analysis.

To determine the top high growth job in each state, data from EMSI, a labor-market research firm, was examined and looked at 774 occupations classified by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Physician assistant jobs are projected to grow the most between 2018 and 2023 in Wisconsin, Virginia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ohio.

Nurse practitioner jobs are projected to grow the most during that period in Washington, Connecticut, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Texas.
