Rebecca Fadanelli, 40, owned Skin Beaute Med Spa locations in Easton and Randolph, accepted a plea deal on Tuesday, April 7, according to the US Attorney General for the District of Massachusetts.
Prosecutors say she took in more than $900,000 while posing as a nurse and using illegal cosmetic injectables.
Fadanelli, of Stoughton, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including importing merchandise contrary to law and selling counterfeit drugs and devices.
Investigators say the scheme ran from 2021 through 2024. During that time, Fadanelli administered thousands of injections using counterfeit products. These included Botox, Sculptra, and Juvederm. Authorities said the substances were imported illegally from China and Brazil.
The impact on clients was significant.
According to charging documents, patients reported side effects after treatments. Complaints included lumps under the skin, “droopy eyes,” and small lumps forming around their lips.
Prosecutors said Fadanelli continuously represented herself as a nurse to both clients and coworkers. In reality, she was licensed only as an aesthetician and not authorized to administer prescription drugs, the prosecutor said.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors are recommending more than $1 million in restitution. The total is listed as “$1,001,562.45, with the final amount to be determined by the Court at sentencing,” the agreement states.
Fadanelli also faces potential prison time. The importing charge carries up to 20 years. The counterfeit drug and device charges each carry up to 10 years, federal authorities said.
Prosecutors are also recommending 24 months of supervised release.
